Reflections

“Unbound fills a vital need for professional quality contemporary dance in the southeast. I have had the distinct pleasure of working with this two innovative and talented choreographers who have enriched our cultural and artistic dance experience with their many gifts of artistry and cutting edge choreography. Susan Dabney Hancock is a powerful force both as a dancer and creator. I have always known she would produce greatness as a dance majors at USC under my direction.”

“Susan Dabney Hancock and Caroline Lewis-Jones are filling a hitherto unmet need in the Columbia arts scene.  Their Unbound Dance Company provides vibrant new dance works in varied settings.  They are building an audience for contemporary dance in Columbia by holding dance events that attract young professionals who might otherwise not attend a dance performance.  Their choreography and artistry are of the highest caliber.  I am pleased and proud to be associated with Unbound.”

Failure to Survive was one of the most awe inspiring, emotionally charged performances I have seen.  Through her choreography, Caroline mastered capturing the challenges and opportunities we face as caregivers. The Unbound dancers technique was both intriguing technically and touching emotionally. I am truly impressed at how the dancers were able to express through movement the range of emotions involved when patient harm occurs and the joy that can come to everyone involved when harm is prevented.”
